GMAT, also known as Graduate Management Admission Test is an important test for students who are applying to business schools. GMAT is a computer-based adaptive exam that includes multiple-choice questions. Students must take the GMAT for those who are interested in being admitted to the Graduate Business Program such as MBA.
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is the body that conducts the GMAT to provide international business schools with common measurements of applicants.
General Facts About GMAT Exam
The GMAT is assessed on a scale ranging from 200 to 800 and the score you receive when you have completed the test is within the range. But, the final score is based on your quantitative and verbal scores. You can be scored on a scale of 6-51 in the two sections. The total of your scores in the quantitative and verbal sections determines the final scores based on an 800-200 scale.

FAQ
How many times can I take GMAT?
GMAT may be taken up to 8 times, with the gap being 16 calendar days in between the two tests. The test can be taken the test just 5 times in a calendar year.
What is the validity of the GMAT exam?
GMAT scores last for 5 years, and they are allowed to be reported for as long as 10 years. Scores older than 10 years cannot be retrieved.
Does admission to universities depend only on GMAT scores?
Admission to universities isn’t entirely dependent on GMAT scores. A little over 22% of weightage is assigned with GMAT scores during the application to Universities. In addition, your profile also plays a significant role in admissions into Universities.
