IELTS

IELTS is an English language test that is required for candidates who want to migrate or study in a country where English is used as the primary language of communication. It is owned and administered by the British Council and Cambridge English Language Assessment, and IDP Education Australia.

IELTS is recognized by many universities and employers, including Australia and Canada. It’s also accepted in New Zealand, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada. The test is also recognized by immigration authorities, professional bodies and other government agencies. More than 3 million people take it each year.

The test is available in two versions: Academic and General Training. The Listening and speaking sections are the same for all candidates. The academic version of IELTS has a higher level than the general version. The IELTS academic test is designed for students who want to study at a university or in an English-speaking environment (higher education). You can also take IELTS Academic to register for a professional career.

The Test has Four Sections

The site contains also grammar tests and vocabulary tests relevant to IELTS, such as practice tests for academic wordlist.
You will receive a score from 1 to 9. You can get half scores, such as 6.5. Many universities require a minimum IELTS of 6.0 or 7. Some universities may require a minimum of 6.0 for each of the four sections.

There are more than 1600 accredited test centres spread across 140 countries.

You can contact your nearest test centre to arrange a date. IELTS (Academic & General Training) is available on computer and there are many dates. IELTS computer offers more dates, allows you to take the test seven days a weeks, and gives you results within 3 to 5 business days.

How many attempts are there in IELTS?

As long as you pay the IELTS fees, there is no limit to the number of times you can take the exam. Test takers often retake the exam to get a good score. The IELTS test costs the same whether or not a student retakes it.


How many IELTS tests are held each year?

IELTS computer-delivered tests can be taken up to three times per day. The paper-based IELTS test is offered four times per week with 48 test dates fixed in a year. The test centers determine the number of dates for Academic, General Training and UKVI, as well as Life Skills.


What is a Good Score for the IELTS Exam?

IELTS is a test that helps students who want to study abroad or move to an English-speaking nation. The band requirements vary for each country, depending on their policies and the visa and immigration departments. This includes the UK, US and Canada. A score of 6.5 overall is considered competitive to apply to the majority of universities in these countries. IELTS requirements may be higher for programs and universities with a high ranking.
